ACE Honors Marc for Attention or Fashion Homage?

Marc Jacobs, the crazy designer we love to hate and hate to love, has been honored Designer of the Year by the Accessories Council at the 11th Annual ACE (Accessories Council Excellence) Awards.

In receiving the extra attention that Mr. Marc absolutely loves, (In a recent NY Times article, Jacobs stated: “Coming from a psychological place, what I love more than anything is attention.”) I wonder if the non-profit ACE is feeding into his dire need for media attention, or if they were truly honoring his oversized accessories, empire waists, and girly dresses.

Either way, congrats Marc! Maybe this will inspire you to start fashion shows on time…

Bras and Feathers and Wings Oh My!

There’s just something about the infamous Victoria’s Secret Fashion show that draws me in every single year. I don’t know if it’s the anticipation to see how V S will top themselves with their latest Fantasy Bra, the celebrity appearances, or the flying models that drop from the ceiling perfectly synchronized with the music, but either way I tune in every year and 2007 will be no exception. Besides, who wouldn’t be up seeing the Spice Girls first television appearance since they reunited?! Oh nostalgia!

Take a peek at the behind the scenes video. It’s so crazy how brutal the industry can be, even when you’re a 6 foot, size 2 beauty queen with a flawless personality. I guess being a Vicky Secret model is all about odd perfection.

We all know the world of fashion is HUGE and in order to fully grasp its existence and complete understanding it needs to be given in pieces—or rations as I like to say—so it doesn’t seem so massive and enormous.
