Whimsical Wearable Art

Happy Thursday!

Tonight I had the pleasure of attending the NY Women’s Chamber of Commerce’s Holiday Party at La Pregunta Arts CafĂ©. Not only was it great to be around such beautiful and prominent ladies, but everyone brought unwrapped toy for a disadvantaged child in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. While I was there, I noticed a few ladies had on super cute camisoles and it reminded me of the new innerwear and outerwear trend. With that in mind, Lola Haze, my favorite lingerie and loungewear company (at least for this season) and artist Charlotte Pinson have teamed up to create a capsule collection of one-of-a-kind pieces.

The flowing silk charmeuse pieces incorporate Lola Haze's aesthetic of modern luxury with a playful twist. Designer Laura Mehlinger's soft structures give flowing form to the liquidy paintings, and her touches of sheer chiffon detailing compliment the delicacy of Charlotte's brush strokes.

The Angels are Back!

The Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach kicked off the 2008 ‘glamour show’ with models including Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima and Alessandra showcasing an array of naughty underpinnings and (of course) the infamous pair of wings.

And to give you a little sneak peek for the Dec. 3 show, here’s a video for ya!

Dashing Through WWD Brings Back Memories

While flipping through the January issue of WWD intimates today, I happened to come across a story that highlighted Stacy Dash’s new lingerie line, Letters of Marque. The article discussed a bit about her appearance at Salon de la Lingerie in Paris (which, but the way I would’ve killed to attend), but most importantly it brought back a bit of nostalgia as I remembered meeting her last year at Lingerie Americas.

Not only was the line breathtakingly cute, but she is ultra nice and sooo beautiful. Who knew that after a few kids and a broke-down marriage, Stacey would still look like a super sexy 25 year-old? AND who knew Letters of Marque would be sweet and sophisticated just like her?

Anyway, for all my lovely readers who didn’t get an opportunity to read my article in the September issue of BODY magazine, or catch a glimpse of Stacey’s classy lingerie, here’s my article on Letters of Marque. And be sure to check out her new threads at www.lettersofmarque.com.

Hugs & Kisses,

Dash Launches New Line
After the movies Clueless, Gang of Roses and Getting Played, Stacey Dash decided to put her acting career aside and try her hand at designing lingerie.

Letters of Marque, an up-scale lingerie collection, takes inspiration from lingerie fashions of the 19th century, and age of delicate laces, diaphanoue cottons and dainty ribbon, marrying quintessential classic femininity with 21st century comfort.

Letters of Marque, a French originated term for a document issued by government officials, that gave the holder a ‘right of reprisal’, brings an assortment of cotton/silk voile and lace to create babydolls, bralets, bloomers, chemises and dressing gowns for young to middle aged women with exquisite taste.

Bras and Feathers and Wings Oh My!

There’s just something about the infamous Victoria’s Secret Fashion show that draws me in every single year. I don’t know if it’s the anticipation to see how V S will top themselves with their latest Fantasy Bra, the celebrity appearances, or the flying models that drop from the ceiling perfectly synchronized with the music, but either way I tune in every year and 2007 will be no exception. Besides, who wouldn’t be up seeing the Spice Girls first television appearance since they reunited?! Oh nostalgia!

Take a peek at the behind the scenes video. It’s so crazy how brutal the industry can be, even when you’re a 6 foot, size 2 beauty queen with a flawless personality. I guess being a Vicky Secret model is all about odd perfection.

Tune in Tuesday, December 4th at 10/9c.

Love ya, mean it
